2 Kings 3:26-27
26 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.
27 Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land
Unbelievers are out-giving believers! Yes! You heard right! Unbelievers are out-giving believers! .If you hear His voice do not harden your heart.
Today (27th of June 2025), during my watch, while thanking God for His faithfulness, through His Spirit, He brought to my remembrance the king that sacrificed his crown prince to a false and lesser god (see the anchor text), whose sacrifice was strong enough to make our Omnipotent God relent from granting the prayer request of the inquirer and the petition of the petitioner. He made me understand that because of His HOLINESS, He couldn't stand the gory nature of that situational sacrifice. The spiritual atmosphere and highway were polluted by the weight of the blood of the sacrifice. Then He said to me as a warning that unbelievers are out-giving Christians.
Shall we continue to live in the ignorance of denial? We see the extent to which some unbelievers would go for their gods, some would go as far as killing innocent people for their gods. To politicize it a bit, most Africans know the extent to which our physical national leaders go to get to the position of authority they are in today. Some went as far as shedding countless blood, halting innumerable innocent lives as a bargain for their self-made, demon-infested gods and ambiguous ambitions.
Let’s economize it a bit, in the business world, you may be ignorant of what actually is going on, but so many of the so-called business moguls also engage in offering sacrifices, even of themselves or their offspring, to their gods (mammon) . Then we followers of Christ sit in our exalted positions, watching as unbelievers outshine us in a service that epitomizes the beauty of our God. For God so loved the world that He gave... (John 3:16).
We sit there shouting spiritual slogans “grace is my testimony,” “what God cannot do does not exist,” and others, without fully understanding the importance of sacrifices in getting our God to fully move and intervene as He would. Even worse, our understanding of giving is materialistic seeking to satisfy our selfish desires.
We go to churches that only teach prosperity, thinking we can get God to move through the offerings we give as a gamble on a roulette table, giving to the gods of the money-changers who are attempting to turn the house of our Father into a den of thieves. We're easily compelled by motivational sermons, that we empty our accounts to pastors under the false pretense of giving to God Elohim. But God El’Roi, who sees every heart and intent of man, sees that most of our givings or what we call sacrificial offerings are based on the futility of doubling our resources instead of worshipping Him.
We easily forget that we can sell all our properties and give them to the chastity of charity, yet without love, which profits us nothing. Out of pretense, we have confused dancing while sowing our seeds as being cheerful, all to claim that God loves a cheerful giver.
Am I saying that giving to the Lord sacrificially isn’t good? Far from it.
Am I saying that rejoicing while giving to the Lord is wrong? Far from it.
What I am saying is that our giving and sacrifices should be done with a heart of worship and gratitude to the ONE who gave you and me the lives we live, the ONE who saw how far we had gone astray like the prodigal son into perilous living, that He shed His innocent blood, not through suicide, but voluntarily on the cross, paying off the hefty loans and their interest we foolishly or ignorantly took from Satan.
On that fateful day, the king of Moab out-gave the children of Israel, Judah, and Edom by sacrificing his son, his crown prince. Now, we have the grace that our King has sacrificed His only Son on our behalf, to wipe out the weight of satanic sacrifices speaking crazy things, worse than the blood of the righteous Abel, in the spirit realm.
What can we do to repay this unqualified agape love we have graciously received, but to truly offer our lives as a living sacrifice to Him? Though we are building or rebuilding altars for our God, we shouldn’t forget that the altar also requires a sacrifice and must not be empty. This might be your Isaac, or a Solomonic kind of sacrifice that will make God proud of us. This doesn't necessarily have to be money, it could be your time, it could be your worship, it should be your outreach and evangelism, it could be you seeing to the needs of the needy around you. May the Lord give you understanding.
Earlier this week, the Spirit of the Lord said this exact word to me:
“What you have left when you give God your all is all of Him.”
But never forget or confuse giving to the money changers and mammon with giving to God. Yes, God loves a cheerful giver, but He will surely reject the giving done out of pretentiously disguised ulterior motives.
Jesus, in His still small voice, is asking us again: Would He find love on earth when He returns? Shall the unbelievers continue to out-give us in the era of the Holy Spirit?
Giving is not about the quantity of the materials or time, but about the quality of the heart in honouring the King of Glory. Let our giving be God-motivated. Let our giving be love-motivated. Let our giving be joy-motivated. And we will be sure that no stone can replace us, neither would unbelievers out-give us any longer.
Give to the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name. Worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness, for truly God loves a cheerful giver..
Shalom aleichem brothers and sisters.
