Everyone knows clear well the story of David vs Goliath, but most don't realize that the story we recount with ease started with the unrecognized source of victory which is words. We know quite well how Goliath already perplexed the soldiers of Israel with his shear size and the might of his words, and we know that none of Saul's soldiers were able to confront him until the Lord's soldier (David) who knew the power of the spoken word came to the scene and to their rescue. What ensued next were more than mere boasts in who does what and with which style or cruelty their intents will be accomplished. By the power of the spoken word the battle had already ended before the fight even started. What a cinematic waste of money. Imagine buying a movie ticket but only getting to see the names of the casts at the end of the movie. Goliath rained frightening words too gory to depict on the israélites to the point that their knees were clanging like the bell on a pendulum wall clock (I Sam 17v4 - 10).
Goliaths demise came when he defied the armies of he who holds on to the heel of God (Israel). He could have gotten away with this if Israel was still Jacob (watch out for my unpublished blog on the power of names). Seeing the barrage of these satanic influenced words, the Spirit of God triggered a release clause in the spirit realm to the house of Jesse based on the rendition in Isaiah 16v8, to which David was the only one left to heed the call. why? You'll be surprised that it was not just because he was beloved, chosen and anointed for such a time as that, but also because others have responded to the call of a mortal king instead of the call of the King of the king of kings. Just like a good movie director, this is a perfect time to cut scene 2 and prepare for the action of scene 3.
Reading further it is so amazing that as soon as David came to the scene, Goliath also came out immediately, because in the spirit realm goliath knew another (the real) champion had arrived on the battle field, since the first one who happens to be the tallest and the most gorgeous man in Israel couldn't lift a pin (I Sam 17v11). So many things transpired which brought this question to light in my spirit. Why is it that at the first instance Goliath's words only made Israel afraid, but the second time they were so afraid they had to flee (I Sam 17 v 11, 24)? The only answer I could think of is that because God wanted to put to light the futility of human strength (Psalms 60v11-12, 108v12 - 13). To show you that goliaths words in I Sam 17v10 still hung in the atmosphere, David's first response as captured in I Sam 17v26 was 'who is this uncircumcised philistine that he should defy the Lord's army.' Oh my! You needed to see the thunderstorm and lightnings that ruptured in the spirit realm. That word was indeed power! The difference here is the armies one (Goliath) is fighting against and the armies David is fighting for. Goliath came to fight the physical armies of Israel while David came to fight for the armies of the living God Elohim.
Like a chronicle, the war of words between David and Goliath didn't stop there. It still continued even when both singular forces came face to face like in a real boxing match, no wonder those boxers intimidate each other with threats during their press conferences and stare downs. Goliath in I Sam 17v43 - 44 sent his first spiritually backed verbal attack to David, then David responded based on the authority of YHWH Tzeba'ot (I Sam 17v45 - 47). One thing to also note is that goliath threatened in two verses (43 - 44) while David responded in three verses (45 - 47) just to show you that he doesn't have the ability to last the 12 rounds, and David's spiritual cardio has been drilled to beyond the rounds needed to settle the dispute. Meaning that you must study the word of God, keep and meditate on it day and night (Joshua 1v8, Psalms 1v2). Goliath through his defiance of God's armies already had a big whole dug in his frontal lobe that all God requires is anyone or someone to only kick a dust on earth to drill it in the physical. I know in the bodybuilding world physical size matters, but in the spirit world it is the size of your spiritual strength and your understanding of the power of God that matters.
We can take words with levity and continue to speak foolishly, but those who know knows that words are spirits, orchestrated by spirits, to invoke spirits. Take voodoo for instance, before the babaláwo or sangoma or shaman does anything, he or she has to utter what we know as incantations or enchantements to get the spirits backing him aroused. The Word of the living God also mentioned that the words that I speak they are Spirit and they are live (John 6v63). According to the scripture, the characteristics of words are portrayed as:
1. Words have creative ability with which things are created, placed or displaced (Gen 1, John 1).
2. Words are weapons of victory (I Sam 17, Heb 4v12, Isaiah 54v17)
3. Words have victorious and constructive abilities (Isaiah 55v11, Job 22v28)
4. Words are powerful (John 5v8, Acts 3v6, Eccl 8v4, Joel 3v10)
5. Words have redemption grace (Matt 9v2, Luke 23v34, John 18v30)
6. Words have deliverance abilities (Matthew 8v28-34, Mark 5v1-20, Luke 8v26-39)
7. Words have destructive abilities (Prov 18v21, 13v3, 12v18).
God Elohim is asking your Ezekiel 'can these bones live'? Note that for the bones to live as a mighty army, we must learn to harness the power of our words. If we truly believe that we are the children of God we claim we are, then our words are like the words of our God, because they carry His powers.
Therefore, beloved irrespective of the situation and circumstance, ensure to use the words based on the Word of God. Though the devil might infiltrates our thought process but until you verbalize those thoughts, they are nothing but mere boasts just like Goliath did. As mentioned in the Bible, if devil could use your verbalized words to enact his plans you can also use the power of your words to reinstate and reaffirm your victory, for every tongues or thoughts or schemes that rises against you must be condemned and not lightly esteemed (Isaiah 54v17). In the war of words the beloved (David) will always triumph over the splendor (Goliath) of boasts in place of those who seek earthly desires (Saul). To understand what I mean do a forensic of their names.
As we celebrate the birth of the King of the king of kings, who some know as the King of the Jews, let's use our words wisely and rightly. Till we see the soon coming King, I wish you all a very MERRY Christmas!
Shalom aleichem brothers and sisters.
