Tilting the balance : The New Reality of the Foolish and Wise Virgins

Matthew 25:1-13 - Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

This particular post is one that I was instructed to pen down as it was revealed. I had no freedom in how to write it, so please take this as a disclaimer incase you find any typo or grammatical error. I had a different title in mind, but around 02h15 this morning (10.06.24), I was given the title of this post. As stated, it's about the parable of the virgins that Jesus narrated in the book of Matthew 25. However, the reality of this post is about the dream I had this Saturday midnight.

In the dream, I was at a revival program with my daughter. It looked like an open field revival. However, during the sermon, my daughter was tired and wanted to sleep. So I decided to take her to our family's car so she could get some rest. While in the car, out of tiredness I struggled to keep my eyes open so as to pay attention to the sermon, but since the event had very massive loudspeakers I succumbed to listening to the sermon in the car while making sure my daughter got a good sleep. I reclined the car seat got myself and my daughter comfortable in my arms and I faintly dozed off during the sermon. I must say that coupled with the tiredness was a bit of reluctance to truly pay attention to the sermon. The preacher was Pastor E. A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and the title was 'The Rod of Power', which he preached at the last Holy Ghost Congress on the 8th of June 2024.

In the car, I was waking up here and there to open and close the car window to ensure that my daughter gets enough fresh air and warmth. This, I did for like 7 to 10 times. All of a sudden I noticed the door behind was opened, whilst trying to reach the autolock button in the car, my daughter said with a clear voice as if she was never asleep, she said 'Daddy you are trying to lock the door right?' to which I responded to with a 'Yes'. All of a sudden, something like a force or a cloudy or misty hand grabbed my daughter from the car towards a gate. The scene of this struggle had now changed to my father's compound in Nigeria. I held on as tight as I could, but I couldn't hold on for long and there my daughter disappeared with the hand. Then I saw a cousin covered in wax, who had in his hands a bunch of lit candles. I rushed downstairs to still attempt to run after the hand that grabbed my daughter only to observe that wax and lit candles were raining from the clouds. I looked up in the sky and saw it closing with an array of light shining on the other side while red light like that after sunset and a bit of darkness had covered the earth, which was now filled with the rain of wax and lit candles. To my amazement the candles, upon landing on the ground stood firmly straight. None fell on its side which negates what one could have expected due to the surface area. Standing in the open space thinking about what had just happened, it dawned on me that rapture had just taken place. I have had different kind of dreams, but this particular dream melted my bones as I woke up terrified with a fear of panic mixed with disappointment. Wondering what this could mean, knowing quite well what a dream of going back to ones father's house symbolize coupled with the mysterious hands and my daughter's disappearance. Then Ruach HaKodesh started helping me out of my misery. Please pay attention to the next paragraph.

He said, I was a symbolic representation of the state of majority of Christians and the Church (the virgins). That Christians are numb, cold and ill-prepared for the return of our Messiah. He said there will be a rude awakening for the foolish virgins. He said most Christians are serving God as a tradition instead of in preparation of His return. He said the equilibrium of 5 foolish and 5 wise virgins mentioned in the Bible has been tilted. We now have more foolish than wise virgins. He said to go warn the church that He has not forgotten His promise, that He will return. That rightly so when we least expect. He said what disqualifies most Christians are habits, characters and behaviours ingrained in our lives. He said we should make a prayer of repentance and recommit our ways to Him. Faithful is the servant whom when his master returns will find so doing in (Matthew 24v45-46).

Please do a retrospective search, what is your purpose for serving God? Is it as a tradition or in preparation for His return? Yes, the prophecy about His return has been around for over two millennial. Think about it, the orthodox Jews missed out on His first appearance because they got too familiar with the scripture (letters) and not the Word. We're even in greater danger of complacency if we ignore the telling signs. The descendants of the fallen angels are almost done with their rehearsals and military and economic drills. What should we the bride of the Son of God and children of the Most High God be doing? Trim your lamps, get extra oils and clean your robe in preparation of the eternal wedding banquet.

May God grant us the grace to recommit ourselves to His will and wait until we behold Him face to face in His Shekinah. I end this post with ‭1 Corinthians 9:27 (NMV‬) ‘But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.’

Shalom aleichem brothers and sisters.
