Light : The colour of the shadow of the Almighty

Psalms 91:1: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Have you ever seen a bright shadow before? Come and experience a new reality in the presence of the LORD! Depending on the intensity of light and the proximity of an object to the light source, a shadow can be black or different shades of gray. However, it is a perfect oxymoron to know that when you are in the Shekinah presence of God Elohim, your shadow is light and bright instead of dark. According to 1 John 1:5 (MSG), our God is light, the purest of lights, and there is not a trace of darkness in Him. This was the reality Moses experienced on Mount Sinai, where he made history broke the Guinness book of record as the only mortal to see the Shekinah glory of God.

Amazingly, I have come to realize that every act, movement, and placement in the move of God was intentionally and meticulously orchestrated. Why do I say that? Think about it—out of all the mountains where God could have revealed His glory to Moses, why Mount Sinai? Sinai, according to Wikipedia, is derived from the Akkadian word for Moon, "sin" (meaning "the moon" or "to shine"). Although pagans were worshiping Sin, the moon god, God Elohim set things right by asserting His sovereignty over that of the moon god. After this encounter, Exodus 34:29 notes that Moses’s skin was shining. Why? Because he dwelt in the secret place of the Most High and under the shadow of the Almighty.

To dwell in the secret place of God, you must be determined to seek Him with all your heart. You must be surrendered to do His will at all times, not your own. Most importantly, you must be numbered among the members of the body of Christ through faith in Jesus Christ and acknowledgment that He is the only begotten Son of the Father. He came in the flesh to save humanity from our self-imposed exile. Like every human, He died; and like every Spirit, He lives forevermore.

Shalom aleichem, brothers and sisters.
