More than Mere Christianity

There's nothing wrong with just being a follower of Christ. For it is way better than being a fan of a worldly leader or influencer. However, you'll only get the reward of a follower which still day transcends the reward any earthly leader could ever give. For it shall be to everyone according to their labour.

This short charge is a compulsion for us to transition from being mere followers to His family.

So how does a mere Christian defer from Christ's family?

  1. Mere Christian still fellowship and still get blessed
  2. Mere Christian still prays and they will still get answers
  3. Mere Christians can be baptized by immersion in water and
  4. Mere Christians can declare the lordship of Jesus thus confirming their status in eternity.
  5. Mere Christians can evangelize

But mere Christians don't gain access to the secret things from God the Father. God the Father will not be able to confide in mere Christians. They will not be able to live to the fullness of the grace and power in Jesus Christ, illustrated in Mark 16v16-20, no miracle signs and wonders, no healing the sick, no raising the dead Etcetera, Matthew 28v19-20 no making of disciples, if at all if they eventually make some, they won't have enough strength to withstand the test of trials and tribulations. Thus they will be like the seeds that sprouted on stony ground and among thorns (Mark 4v5-7; Matt 13v20-22).

How do I /you enlist as Jesus's family member?

Matt 12v 48-50 'Jesus showed that whoever does the will of God the Father is His family member. This verse expresses to us that His family members does the will of God the Father. So earnestly doing the will of God the Father qualifies and transforms us from mere Christianity to His family member.

What is the will of God the Father?

  1. The will of God is for us to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. Meaning fellowship with Him through His Spirit and through Jesus Christ.
  2. The will of God is for us to mortify our members and be alive in Him (Rom 6).
  3. The will of God is for us to make it to His presence at the end of our lives (Matt 7vs21).
  4. The will of God is for us to go into all worlds and share our testimonies (John 6v38-40) thus bringing in fruits that abounds
  5. The will of God is for us to reciprocate His love to Him and one another.
  6. His will is for us to do what He does. That's depicted in the Lord's prayer
  7. The will of God is for us to have life and more abundantly (John 10v10).

To some, this might be the call to 'come up hither' as illustrated in the book of Revelation. For some this might be the removal of all distractions that's impeding us from hearing His incessant knock on the door. Why do I say this? Isn't the knock on the door a call for unbelievers to open up to Christ? Like you, I also thought so until the Holy Spirit revealed to me during a Bible teaching arrangement with a group of Christian students in Hamburg on the 5th of September, that the Holy Spirit explained to me that Jesus's knock on the door is for both unbelievers and believers alike albeit in different forms. In that self same moment, the Spirit of truth revealed to me that the knock on the door for unbelievers is rightly a call for repentance. But for the repented the knock on the door is for deeper fellowship. It is a 'come up hither' knock. It is a call for some to move from the outer court to the sanctuary, for some to move from the sanctuary to the inner chamber, and from some to move from the inner chamber to the holy of holies. It is a call to worship God the Father in truth and in Spirit. So as you see, we're not wrong with the existing analogy, the Holy Spirit was only trying to complete that analogy so we can move beyond mere Christianity.

Whatever the call is to you, I beseech you as one who sent for such a time as this that you heed the call. Transition from mere Christianity to the family of Jesus Christ the soon coming King.

May the Spirit of God grant you understanding and the heart to truly obey His call.

Shalom aleichem brothers and sisters
