It's Your Choice

1 Kings 18:21 NIV

[21] Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing.

Joshua 24:15

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

According to the flexibility afforded me, I would like to share this post about the power of choices and the consequences. Believe it or not, choices and consequences are intertwined; every decision we make, no matter how small, has an impact. Our lives are shaped by the choices we make, and we are ultimately responsible for the outcomes.

Here are some popular quotes about choices:

"Everything you are comes from your choices." - Jeff Bezos

"It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." - J.K. Rowling

It is so amazing how we trivialize this powerful entity called choice. We are either afraid to make a choice, make a wrong choice, blindly follow other people's choice, or outrightly fail to make any choices.

Please be informed that the choices you fail to make have already been made for you. And all choices have consequences, either good or bad, which you have to deal with on your own. I elaborate below.

To those who failed to make a choice, unfortunately, the choice has already been made for them. However, you may not like its outcome because every choice has consequences. But not making a choice doesn't mean one is not being made for you. Nature abhors vacuums. Observe in your environment, you might find some youths who failed to make the right choice. They're either addicted to drugs, disturbing the peace in the neighborhood, or littering the cemetery with their cadavers. You see here, the consequences of not making a choice is synonymous with that of making a wrong choice. Which shows who takes advantage of your indecisiveness. For in the spirit realm, there is nothing like silence. The choice you failed to make is already being made for you. Your silence shows your acceptance of the choice that was made for you.

Look around, and you'll also see those who chose to stand up for what's right irrespective of what the society says. Those who chose to seek the best for their lives, weathering the storms in their early stages in life. Look around, you'll see those who, despite having made a wrong choice, came to their senses at the end. A typical example is the thief on the right side of the Lord in Calvary.

Your words are the verbalization of your subconscious choice.

Observe those whose words are always negative. You will always see that their lives are in perfect synchrony with their words. On the other hand, look at those who, despite their situations, chose to verbalize positive words. You'll also observe that, irrespective of their outward appearance, their inner appearance is peaceful. And at the end, their outward appearance conformed to their inward reality. What's happening in these two scenarios is what I call the power of the verbalized choice. You may not know, but words are spirits. I learnt that from a reliable Source, the Bible. And in the spirit realm, every word is as a result of a choice that has been made, either ignorantly or righteously. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Let me share a typical example with you. There's a rendition of a lad (I think it was recorded in the slums of the Philippines) who a photographer wanted to take the picture of, him and his brother. Despite wearing tattered and not-so-clean clothes, he chose to rightly adjust his and his brother's clothes. You may be wondering what difference it makes, since he was already wearing what some would have called 'rags'. But the point is the power of choice. The young man chose to see himself as who he would be, and not limit himself to who he was at that time. Oh, I wish we all could put on our waist the belt of compassion and support those kids and not leave them at the mercies of their environmental circumstances.

Brethren, in the hands of Satan, you're nothing but a puppet. A thing or a toy that he uses for his satanic amusements at will. Something too irrelevant to be valued by him.

But in the hands of God, you're a child. A life worthy of dying for. A vessel so worthy He literally gave His life to generate the blood of cleansing to wash thoroughly clean. A vessel so valuable He has been standing in front of your door, gently knocking for you to let Him in.

So choose whose care you want to be in. Choose who you will serve this day. If God is your God, then love Him, and serve Him with all your heart, life, soul, and spirit.

What a pity that some would still choose to be a toy for Satan rather than a child of God. Why choose someone that never sacrificed and will never sacrifice anything for you, over someone who gave it all up just to come see you saved? I honestly don't understand that reasoning. It's like most humans prefer being oppressed than being truly free.

Romans 6:16 (NKJV) "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?"

Has life been cruel to you? Maybe things haven't really worked out as planned. Please observe in what capacity your choices have contributed to it. Have you made the right choice, or have you chosen to be quiet while others make the choice for you? Like the thief on the right hand side of the Lord on the cross, it's not too late to make a U-turn, and say yes to the right choice, abandoning the wrong for the right.

May God Elohim bless us all with the requisite wisdom to always make the right choice all the days of our lives.

Shalom aleichem brothers and sisters.
